Actually they’re pretty stupid. Look at what they’re doing. Not exactly an intellectual pursuit. And if Apple implements their system it will catch many, many offenders and yes - it might save some children. When did taking care of our children become an afterthought? You’re more worried about Apple looking through your phone than letting these nuts walk around the community?
You really don't know what you're talking about facebook sends tons of CSAM violations the number that are actually looked into are on the order of (10's out 100's of thousands of reports). This is clearly the government getting around the 4th amendment by proxy. You can call it whatever you like but it's a total invasion of privacy to gain little or no security. It's 1984 levels of dystopian. Under your thought regime this should be extended to all documents scanned for any thought crimes. Wouldn't we all be safer if we do that? Why do we even have a Bill of Rights as they're just keeping the police from doing their job of saving the children and keeping us all safe.
