Didn't get into YC but still have a burning itch to get in on the ground level on a seed-funded startup?

A Launchbox (http://www.launchboxdigital.com) duo is looking for passionate co-founding hackers.

We'll be in Wash, DC for the summer, starting ... next week, and we're looking to fill the team with one (or two) awesome hacker(s).

Some tools you'll need proficiency with: - PHP - AJAX/JavaScript - XML/XSLT - W3C DOM methods and properties - Experience in database design, SQL and object relational mapping. - (BONUS: Working knowledge of Internet protocols, networks, HTML, TCP/IP, CSS, Python, Perl and/or Shell preferred.)

Those looking for a challenge can expect heuristic algorithms.

Email launchboxhackers@gmail.com with whatever you think will convince us you're the right fit for the team.

Would you mind saying a bit more about the company?

Consumer-facing, community web app. Will be doing significant work with higher level coding.

I'd like to apply. Here is my experience:

In Programming:

- Programmed a bare metal steel pipe

- Wrote a napster clone - in VHDL

- Wrote a java virtual machine - in VB6

- Wrote a functional http server - in HTML

- Wrote a LISP compiler - in ARC

- Designed a Grammar that described a never ending program using a Type 3 grammar

- Wrote a windows Kernel Driver - using Punch Cards

- Created a COM object using only __asm push, pop and mov

In Marketing:

- Wrote a headline that converted more people than visited the site

- Sent an email newsletter that got forwarded more times than the ILOVEYOU virus

In Scaling

- Created a database that handled so many concurrent connections, we ran out of space in the integer

In design

- Created a GUI for a customer management system that was so intuitive, it only needed a single button and a single text field

Oddly enough, we just received a similar resume where I work..

lol

I get a down-vote for laughing about something that I find funny? Seriously?

Bahahahaha!

I feel bad if they hired your team missing key hacker co-founders. I always thought these incubators picked groups mostly on the team. Besides the small amount that Launchbox is actually offering should guarantee you waste most of your summer on this idea. Better off going your own way.
